The structure

Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is 42.5 kilometres (26.4 mi) long, making it according to Guinness World Records the world’s longest bridge over water (aggregate length) as of July 2011.  The structure is supported by 5,000 pillars stretching across 24 miles.
