Spotlight project: The Oresund Bridge
The Oresund Bridge provides a convenient connection for travelers between Denmark and Sweden. Oresund Bridge has a total length of over 10 miles and carries more than 60,000 travelers daily. This impressive bridge was opened in 2000 after nine years of construction.
What is most remarkable about this bridge is that it boasts as having the longest cable-stayed main span of all bridges in the world. As if that feat was not already impressive, the bridge connects to the world’s longest underwater tube tunnel, which is used for both vehicle and train traffic.
This video provides and interesting narrative on the construction and design of this project.

Interesting, the subway line under the San Fransisco bay was constructed in a similar fashion.
