On October 16, the Board of Directors for Scantek, Inc. appointed Steve Marshall to the position of company President. In addition to over 30 years of engineering experience in sound & vibration control, Steve brings a business background that includes management positions in both the aerospace and HVAC&R industries. Steve is a Fellow of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering and served for ten years as its Treasurer.

The previous President, Rich Peppin, founded the company in 1985 and has resided at the helm for most years since. Rich is a Fellow of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering and is widely recognized for his contribution within the sound and vibration technical community. Rich will remain engaged in the company as well as with professional societies and standardization committees.

The unemployment rate for U.S. electrical and electronics engineers (EEs), which had jumped to a record high in the second quarter, has eased, according to third quarter data just released by the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. For the engineering profession as a whole, the rate continued to climb, but more slowly.

TRC Awarded $19.9 Million Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Contract

announced today that it signed a contract with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) for on-call environmental engineering services. The Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract is for a three-year term with a potential option for an additional two years of annual extensions and is funded for $19.9 million.
